Trust Centre
Trust is the only thing that makes a health-information site worth using. This is where we show our working: who we are, how we decide what’s true, how we’re funded and what we will never do.
- Who we areAn independent consumer science publication about dopamine, motivation, attention and habits.
- Editorial policyHow pages are researched, written, checked and corrected.
- Evidence standardHow every claim is graded A to E, and why a brain scan is not a dopamine measurement.
- How evidence is gradedThe study-quality principles we apply, and how grades are validated.
- AuthorsWho writes the pages and the process every page follows.
- Scientific reviewersThe current status of scientific review — stated honestly.
- Corrections policyHow corrections are made, and the public log of changes.
- How to report an errorTell us which page, what is wrong, and the source that shows it.
- FundingHow dopamine.co.uk is paid for.
- Advertising policyNo advertising today; strict rules if that ever changes.
- Conflicts of interestNo supplements, no affiliate links, no sponsored verdicts.
- AI policyWhere AI helps, where it is never allowed to decide, and why Ask is not a chatbot.
- PrivacyPrivate by design: exactly what is collected, why and for how long.
- Clinical safetyWhere our role ends, who the site is for, and the safeguards before any personalised feature.
- AccessibilityOur WCAG 2.2 AA target and how to tell us about a barrier.
Funding
dopamine.co.uk is independently owned and funded by its owner. It currently carries no advertising, no sponsorship and no affiliate links, and receives no grants or payments from companies. Any change will be announced here and on the conflicts of interest page before it happens.
Who this site is for
dopamine.co.uk is written for adults (18 and over). Its tools and guided journeys are designed for adults and are not intended for children. If you are under 19 and struggling, Childline is free on 0800 1111.
Where our role ends
We explain, educate, help people reflect, help them navigate and connect them with appropriate support. We are not a diagnostic service, a crisis service, an AI psychologist or a prescribing service. See clinical safety.
